"Former Ex-Gay Leaders Apologize"
Here's an amazing video of three former leaders of the ex-gay movement (Exodus, specifically) apologizing for their part in trying to "cure" people of homosexuality, acknowledging that the so-called ministry was in fact useless, that no one they knew of was ever "cured," and describing the damage the ministry did to people.
Here's a quote:
"I apologize to those individuals and families who believe that my message of change was necessary to be acceptable to God. In recent years, I have seen the resulting damage done from rejection, shame, and conditional love. I apologize for my part in presenting a God of conditional love, and ask forgiveness for the message, the broken truth, that I spoke on behalf of Exodus."
